Position: Horticulture Service Lead Gardener
Position Type: Full-Time, seasonal (May-December)
Schedule: Monday through Friday, some Saturdays possible during peak season
Typical Start Time: 7:30 AM
Hourly Rate: $23-25/hour with overtime available
We are seeking a passionate experienced horticulturist to join our garden maintenance team. The position requires a good working knowledge of plant ID, garden maintenance procedures, experience with annual installations, understanding of planting practice, and proper pruning techniques. What You’ll Do:
Seasonal Expertise – Perform installation, maintenance and removal of seasonal container & bed plantings and holiday decor.
Garden Bed Planting – Perform perennial installations and divisions.
Collaborate with Horticulture Manager – Work closely with Horticulture Manager to meet client expectations of seasonal installations. Maintain and report on records including time and material from all jobs.
Professionalism – Maintain punctuality, a neat appearance, and positive communication with customers.
Project Completion – Ensure the completion of projects as per the estimated bid, maintaining timely and accurate records.
Stay Fit Outdoors – Build strength while working outdoors and lifting up to 50 pounds regularly. Handle heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling of various gardening/landscaping equipment and materials. The ability to work outside in all types of weather.
Logistics Support – Prepare, load, and unload trucks for daily tasks, maintaining the cleanliness of trucks, trailers, and equipment. Keep landscaping tools, equipment, and materials organized.
Safety – Attend safety training and staff meetings as required, ensuring a secure and efficient work environment.
Driving – Safely operate a mason dump truck, adhering to all safety protocols.

Qualifications:
Experience: 3+ years experience in the landscape/fine gardening/horticulture industry. Experience in leadership positions is a plus.
Plant Knowledge: Plant identification skills are advantageous.
Team Player: Ability to work harmoniously as part of a team.
Independent Worker: Ability to work effectively and efficiently independently.
Positive Attitude: Good customer service skills and willingness to work long hours during the busy season.
Physical Strength: Capability to safely perform heavy lifting and carry up to 50 pounds.
Valid driver’s license is required.
US work authorization is required.
